Location: Home based
Full time: Full time, 35 hours per week
Salary: £24,000 - £26,000 DOE
Contract: Temporary

Barry Bennett Ltd is one of the largest suppliers of assistive technology to students in receipt of DSA (Disabled Students’ Allowance) throughout the UK. We provide installation, familiarisation, training and aftercare to students who have been recommended assistive technology following an ‘assessment of study needs.

Bennett Workplace Solutions Ltd is a B2B company that provides an end-to-end service for workplace adjustments. Delivering a fully managed solution including needs assessments, coaching, assistive technology and ergonomic products.

Due to a recent increase in workload, we are now looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join the finance team on a full-time basis. We are looking for the successful applicant to be confident in their ability to provide financial administration support, as this is a dynamic position which supports both businesses, therefore, previous experience in a similar role is required. This role is initially on a temporary basis of 6 months and will be reviewed after this time with the possibility of extending depending on the demands of the workload.

Main Responsibilities
Reporting to the Financial Controller the main responsibilities will include:
  • Manage accounts email inboxes
  • Answer any calls from students or suppliers/customer
  • Input purchase ledger entries - import and process invoices against purchase orders
  • Deal with purchase ledger enquiries via email and phone
  • Handle credit card and expenses, reconciling statements and receipts
  • Reconcile supplier statements
  • Assist Management Accountant with twice monthly payment runs
  • Field sales invoice queries Assist with month end processes
  • Assist with yearend procedures
  • Any ad hoc general finance admin duties, as required

Requirements:
The successful applicant will possess the following qualities
  • QBE or part-qualified in AAT
  • Good overall finance knowledge
  • Analytical and numerical abilities
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
